New Pictures Added 12/11/11 - 5.5 weeks old!!
The following pictures are of our 8 happy and healthy little pups. They are really developing personalities now. We have been feeding them weaning formula and softened dog food for over a week now and they have all adjusted very well. Their daily weight gains took quite a jump up because their mom, who still likes to nurse them, was not making all that they needed as their growth increased. Their mom is with them during the day and gets to take the evenings and nights "off". We are feeding the pups 3 times a day while mom is still helping out. Their bellies get round and full after a meal - and they all have "milk mustaches". They will be ready to go locally for Christmas if that is your wish. Remember, we will deliver in and around Iowa - so call (515-290-5154) or email (tjknight627@yahoo.com) to reserve your pup today! We are happy to answer questions about the breed or temperament of a particular puppy. It looks like 3 will be black bear coats!
This is Meg and Willy's 2nd litter. There are 5 black puppies and 3 fawn puppies. They were born on 11/3/11 and will be ready right at Christmas time! They are listed for sale on puppyfind.com. Below are some pictures of the litter at 8 days old. They are all gaining weight and Meg is doing a great job of feeding 8 babies! They are content (most of the time) and should be opening their eyes soon!!
All of the pictures below here are of Meg's first litter and of Meg and the father of both litters, Willy.
Here are the puppies at 8 weeks old. They love playing outside and rolling in the grass. They are whining to go out to go to the bathroom and we take them every chance we get - they seem really smart!
This is Kate. She looks alot like Molly but has a slightly longer and softer coat. Living in Chicago Area!
This is Kate with her new forever owner Susan - Kate will have a Puggle to play with at his new house!
This is Caterpillar! She is soft and fuzzy like a woolly caterpillar - thus the name. Living in Des Moines, Iowa with her buddy Gus the Pug!
This is William. He has lots of fun and personality to make you smile! Living in Massachusetts!
Molly is a little timid at times, but can hold her own when it comes time to eat! She likes to cuddle. Living in Colo, Iowa!
Here is Molly with her forever owner Melissa - two happy girls!
This is Matilda. She has a soft coat and a soft heart. She is living with us - she was our pick of the litter!
This little guy's name is Rollie Pollie. He knows how to eat and it shows! Quite the tumbler. Living in New York.
These pups have found a special place in our hearts. From the minute the girls are home from school they hold them. They should be smart pups because they have helped with hours of homework! I think we each have our favorite that changes every day.
We chose Ori Pei's because we had previously owned Shar Pei's that happened to have some very serious health problems. Not all Shar Pei's are sickly, but both of ours from different breeders had fatal health issues. Rosco lived to be 2 and Waldo lived to be 4 and they both knew the vet's office all too well. When we found out people were hybridizing the Shar Pei with the Oriental Pug (that is where the "Ori" comes from! - took me quite a while to figure that out) we knew we needed to share in the fun. We have both a female, Meg, and a male, Willy that are pictured below. They both have at least 3 generations of Ori Pei breeding (Willy has at least 5 generations) in their pedigrees and both are ACA registered and the pups can be registered as well. Meg is in the mid 40's for weight and Willey is in the upper 20's for weight. Because of their size difference they did need some "medical help" getting pregnant.....if you know what I mean.
They have been vet checked and had dewclaws removed at 3 days old. They were wormed at 3 weeks old and will be wormed every other week. They will be vet checked at 7-8 weeks old and get their first round of shots before they are ready for new homes.
